How long do you list my item for sale on eBay?
Typically, we use a seven day auction to maximize bidding interest. We are, however, able to do
auctions as short as 1 day for items with time constraints (i.e. tickets for sporting events,
concerts etc.)
What if my item doesn't sell during the auction period?
If your item doesn't sell, you will be notified via email and you can pick it up at the store
(within 10 days of auction close), OR we'll donate your item to charity.
Can I set a minimum selling price for my eBay auction?
Yes. Sellers are able to set an opening bid of $9.99 or higher. However, while minimum
opening bids above $9.99 do provide a "safety net" for which an item must sell, they can
limit bidding activity.
When can I expect to receive my check?
Typically, you will receive a check approximately 30-45 days from the date you dropped
off your item. Please note that winning bidders who delay in paying for your item will
cause delays in our timing for sending out your check. In addition, occasionally a
winning bidder may never pay for your item. In this case, we will cancel the original
auction and relist your item for free. Your check amount and payment timing will be
based on the results of this new auction.
How does SellIt4You earn its commission?
Like any retailer, we make a commission on the items we sell. This fee is used to cover
the costs of photographing, listing, payment collection, customer service, and packing and shipping.
Once the item sells, we deduct both our commission and eBay and payment processing fees
before sending you a check. Click here to see a sample commission schedule.
Will my item be safe while in consignment?
Yes, your items are very safe with us. When we pick up an item we will provide a consignment
contract which makes us legally responsible for the property we are selling. We are fully
insured which so you will be compensated should something happen to your item. Our storage
facilities are secure and can be accessed only by members our team.
Why should I use your service instead of selling on eBay myself?
EBay is the world's largest marketplace and it can be a very tricky for inexperienced users
to navigate. We have been selling on eBay for 10 years and have the skills to make sure
your item is sold securely and for the highest value possible. Our auctions consistently
fetch higher-than-average values because of our reputation as a top seller on eBay.
Your time is valuable, why spend hours in front of a computer when you can leave it up
to the professionals?
How long will it take you to sell my items?
We will design and upload your auction to eBay usually within 48 hours of receiving your
item. In order to maximize profits, we prefer to start our auctions in the evening, the
peak time for eBay usage. We usually list using 7 day auctions. After your auction ends
it takes 1-14 days to receive and process payment from the buyers. As soon as we receive
payment for your item, we will ship it to the buyer and mail you a check. The entire process
from drop-off to receiving your check usually takes between 30 and 45 days.
What kinds of items can you sell?
You can sell almost any non-perishable item using eBay. They do have some restrictions
which can be viewed by clicking here. We prefer to
sell items that have a value of over $50.00 and weigh under 150 lbs. We do make
exceptions to this rule, so feel free to contact us and tell us about your item.
What makes your auctions better?
Every one of our auctions is the product of countless hours of eBay research and
experimentation. We build our auctions in order to maximize the amount of traffic
that views your item, and also to maximize the final value.
The majority of eBay buyers find items by using the search feature. We optimize your
auction using frequently searched and relevant terms throughout the titles and
description. This ensures that when someone is searching for an item like yours, they
will find your auction.
We also are very experienced using HTML code. This is the code that handles web pages,
and is how we build our eBay auctions. Designing an auction that contains all the
necessary"fine print" while showcasing your auction can be impossible without proper
design and coding skills. We create our auctions to be aesthetically pleasing, while
making sure to keep your item the center of attention.
Can I watch the auctions for my items?
Yes, many of our clients love this feature. We send automatic emails to consignors
when their item is listed with instructions on following the auction.
How does your service compare to traditional means of selling?
When you have items to sell you usually only have a couple of options. You can put
the item in a high-visibility area with a "For Sale" sign, you can list it in your
local newspaper's classifieds, or you can take it to a local auctioneer.
We believe that our services make these traditional methods almost obsolete. Not only
can we generate more traffic from interested potential buyers, but we can ensure that
your item will sell within 2 weeks. The biggest feature that sets us apart is the fact
that we handle the entire process. No more placing unanswered ads in the paper, no more
haggling with buyers, Go Trading Post is your effortless selling solution.
Auctioneers function very similar to the way we do. However there are a couple of
key differences that will benefit you as a consignor. Our auctions have millions of
people watching and waiting to bid, most auctioneers have audiences limited to who is
in the building and phone bidders. In addition, most auctioneers also charge a buyer's
premium which cuts into the amount that the winning bibber is able to put up. We don't
charge a buyers premium so that they can bid as high as they wish, this makes for much
higher final values, and ultimately puts more money in your pocket.
How do you compare to other local and national trading assistants?
You may have noticed all of the Trading Assistants that have sprung up in the last
few months. Million dollar corporations and self-employed eBay sellers are all competing
for a piece of the action. In this exploding market we believe we hold a competitive edge: We
have many years of experience successfully selling a variety of items through eBay.
